I was saddened to hear of the passing of Norine. She was always so friendly and willing to help out. I met Norine through volunteering with her on the Cancer Society. She left a lasting impression on me and I am sure others as well. My thoughts go out to your family during your time of loss. Sincerely, Kathryn Russell

Al and Norine always ate at the Capitol Cafe on Tuesday, after they finished working at the Corner Cupboard, when it was on King Street, and no doubt many other times as well. I also patronized Johnny and Jeannie's place and ran into these people a few times while had my usual - wonton soup and 2 egg rolls. They invited me to join them one day and sat at a large booth toward the rear of the restaurant - Norine very proudly pointed out the 'RESERVED' sign. Norine talked candidly about her Breast Cancer and now her Alzheimer's. What a woman! Turns out, the three of us all ordered the same items and all ate them in very different ways. I believe that the Parkers have some soup bowls and spoons from the Capitol Cafe and this shows the high esteem in which they were held! This is no doubt true in many other places - nicer, more friendly folk you would want to have as friends!

Dear Al, Jerry, Deb and Families - my sincerest condolences on the loss of this truly beautiful, so in many ways, woman. She was a wonderful spokeswoman for both Breast Cancer and Alzheimer's and talked freely about them.
