Obituary of Jean Simpson
SIMPSON: in her 91st year, Jean Marrion (Brooks) Simpson, quietly passed away on Tuesday September 14, 2010 at Maple Manor in Tillsonburg. Jean was born a leap year baby on February 29, 1920 daughter of the late Earl Starr Brooks and Mary La Vina (Rice) Brooks of Springfield. .Jean was predeceased by her loving husband "Len" Lennard David Simpson in 2005. Jean was also predeceased by her loving sisters Stacia MacPherson, Phyllis Huston, Shirley Nelson and her dear sister-in-law Violet Brooks. Dear Momma of Sylvia Marlene (Simpson) Thorpe and husband John of Courtland., and son Garry David Simpson of Richmond. Loving granny of Bradley James Thorpe and wife Amanda of Springfield. Also survived by sisters-in-law, and a number of nephews, nieces and cousins. Jean was a homemaker, a tobacco leaf hander, a cook and waitress at the White Villa in its heyday and a gardener and a canner. She was a firm and faithful of Richmond United Church , the Richmond United Church Women, an honorary Elder of the church and a member of the Eastern Star. During her life and retirement Jean became proficient at oil painting, Bible study, gardening and keeping her friends and family on track. She will be sorely missed but will remain a strong reminder in our lives of how to treat others. Family and friends may call at the H.A.Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Friday 17th from 7 to 9pm for visitation. The Funeral service will be held at Kebbel's on Saturday September 18, 2010 at 1:00 pm. The Rev Don Graham will be officiating. Interment - Richmond at the Bayham West Cemetery. Donations to Richmond United Church - the Memorial Fund would be appreciated.
