Uncle Joe, you are finally reunited with the sweet love of your life, Aunt Theresa. May you two hold hands forever in peace, in the presence of our Lord I loved having you both as an Uncle and Aunt and will cherish many fond, adventurous and fun memories at your farm and my cottage. Til we meet again, save me a seat at the card table with you both, Auntie Helen and Aunt Margaret. Love Joanie

Anyone who knew Joe knew about his love for his backyard and his fishpond. He and Theresa would both spend hours out in the backyard. We were neighbours with Joe and Theresa for almost 24 years. Joe would love to take us to his backyard and show us his new fish and his beautiful gardens. We actually gave Joe a statue of a little old man that had been given to us. It was in pretty bad shape and we were going to throw it out. Joe said he would take it and fix it up. Well fix it up he did! Theresa helped him with the project and painted the little old man back to his original look. We were almost sorry we gave him away! But we knew when we saw it in his backyard overlooking the fish pond that the right person had our little statue. One story I have always told to others was the time when Joe first showed us his fish pond and we had just got a brand new black lab puppy, Belle. We had her about a month or so and one day Joe came running around the backyard to our house and said "your dog was just in my fishpond!" Joe was not impressed with our new addition. But not long after that he and Belle became pretty good friends and Joe was the guy we could count on to water and feed her while we were gone away on holidays. Joe was a kind man with a big soft heart. We loved him as a great neighbour and friend. He will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure to know him. Denise Quick

Dear Theresa, Linda, Rob and Boys: Words are hard to find right now. We had no idea until just after 11 tonight. You will never know what a great comfort it was for us to have you and Joe as neighbours Theresa. One of the worst things about moving out of Aylmer was leaving you two behind. I remember asking Scott if we could take you with us. We lived next to you for almost 24 years and you were like family to us. You watched our kids grow up and we watched your boys grow up. Joe was one of "those guys" you could count on for anything.... even for just a good glass of wine and a laugh. He will be sadly missed and we can only imagine the sadness in your hearts. Please know we are thinking of you and we will be in touch very shortly. Love, The Quick's

Dear Theresa, Kerry told me of the sad news. I know I only met Joseph a couple of times, and around the sad circumstances of Eva's passing - but he was genuinely kind and I am sorry for your loss. You are in my prayers. Sincere condolences, Elinor Schwob (Kerry Fath's friend)

Dear Theresa, Linda & Family:
I am in Kentucky on business and unfortunatly can not be there in person, so please accept my condolences.
Joe was my Dads best friend and I always enjoyed his fellowship. We had some great times on the farm that still bring a smile to my face.
God Bless Joe as he joins the other loved ones that went before him.

The grandparents would come to the fruit stand in Jaffa with two very active little boys. While they were choosing their fruit, one little fellow would head off in one direction and the other in the opposite direction. Grandparents would take chase. It was almost like a game to the boys. Sometimes grandma would stay in the car while grandpa shopped, conserving their energy. The boys were cute a buttons, couldn't hurt anything, but grandparents weren't going to chance it. I miss those days.
