Obituary of Roger Verbuyst

Verbuyst, at his residence on Monday, February 15, 2010. Roger Verbuyst of Winston Park, Kitchener and formerly of Aylmer in his 86th year. Beloved husband of the late Julia (Mattheus) Verbuyst(2002). Dear father of Brian Verbuyst and wife Diana of Kitchener and the late Alan Verbuyst(1965). Loving grandfather of Brandie and husband Jason, Brent and Mitch. Also survived by sisters Yvonne Vandekerckhove and Rena Storp, a sister-in-law Elaine Mattheus and a number of nieces and nephews. Born in Windsor on April 28, 1924 son of the late Gerard and Maria Verbuyst. Roger was a retired Real Estate and Insurance Agent and farmer. He was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows R.C. Church and the Knights of Columbus. Roger was Mayor of Aylmer from 1982 - 88. Friends may call at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at 11:00 am. at Our Lady of Sorrows R.C. Church. Interment, Queen of Peace Cemetery. Father Joseph Nevett, officiating. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Cancer Society would be appreciated.
