Our most sincere and heartfelt sympathies to Pete's family. We were so upset to hear of this sudden and tremendous loss. Pete was our daughter Briar's bus driver for the past 2 years- JK and SK. Pete was such an important part of Briar's every day- always greeting her with a smile- it made our transition of starting school so much easier. When Briar found out that Pete had gone to heaven she shed many tears. While crying one day this past weekend she said "Don't you know mom- all bus drivers love children... but most of all Pete did." We couldn't agree more with her. Our memories include his big warm smile, his piano winter hat he wore, the love for his family which he shared with us freely- especially the pride he felt in his son going to University recently and his generous offer of treats for the children on the bus for special holidays and the end of the school year. He will be missed by many children- he truly made a difference in our lives and especially Briar's. Sincerely, Brad, Kari, Briar and Rosie McCaw.

All three of my grandson have rode on Pete's bus since they started school, they where deeply upset to hear about Pete. Pete was a great bus driver and friend to the children and will be missed. Even to this day the boys refer to the bus as PETE's bus. Our deepest sympathy goes out to your family.

Our Condolences to Especially Matt- Pete was one that only had a heart of Gold - He had been our Bus Driver for our children since tots.... He will always be remembered not only by our family, but truthfully through the community. He would always greet you with a smile and found it extremely easy to strike up a conversation whether it to be about the weather, how things were going in our lives and also was very generous in talking about his adventures/travels over the yrs. He grew up in the small town where I was raised and he knew my father very well ... oh how he would remonice of the "Good Ol' Days". He was extremely a proud father, he would not settle for second best, he wanted the world for you Matt, and you could do no wrong in his eyes. With our kids being close to Matts age we had lots of stories, experiences, choices of colleges/universities it was endless. The laughter at times, lol, he would laugh til the tears would run down his cheeks. My daughter, Alisha will never forget him, for Pete had given Maurice (Family pet rabbit) to her to look after - the joy in his eyes to see that Maurice had a loving home. He didn't need to worry for Maurice was well taken care of. Visitation was usually just before pick up in the mornings (alittle cuddle here and there) Pete always found time for sharing his affection. We never had to worry of the safety of our children on his run, he was a great father figure to all - whether it to be for advise or simply a great listener for when the kids wanted to open up to him. They certainly don't make them like Pete anymore --- the mould has been broken --- but never forgotten We will all miss you ever so much --- Why you were called on so early, that was between you and the Good Lord up above. If it was up to us, we would have kept you forever and ever...... Peace, Love and Kindness to All - Thinking of you Always Pete,Ginger,Mike and Alisha

I was saddened to hear the news about Pete. I first met Pete in May of 1979 when I started to work at the Ford Talbotville Assembly Plant. Pete was the repairman down in the pit on line 4 back then. We had a lot of laughs at work. Like Pete I am an Amateur Radio Operator and talked to Pete from time to time. My condolences to his family. Rick Peterson

I'm sad to hear of peter's death. I worked with Pete for many years during the time we were at Ford, i have good memories of Peter. It was only a short while ago that peter took the time to telephone me here at my home in Newfoundland, and we did some catching up, I am so glad I was able to have that conversation with him. My condolences to Peter's wife and family. I know something of losing a loved one, my wife passed away Nov 11th 2008 with cancer. God bless, and Peter.... rest in peace, you will not be forgotten. Howie.

Prayers are being said that a time of healing will come to you Linda and your son Mat. We went through a time all too familiar with my brother and know well the hurt that comes with this. I will always remember the bursts of energy and kindness in his heart from when I was a young child. Riding horses was always a special treat. These memories will always be treasured. Hope he finds peace on his latest adventure.

Always ready with a quick smile and a kind word, Pete will be greatly missed. Trading stories with him about our sons escapades throughout their school years always made us quick to laugh over shared experiences. Pete and Linda's generosity in including Derek in their family excursions to the Hockey Hall of Fame (still have the pic Mat), the CN Tower and Science Centre, to name a few, was always appreciated. Pete's love for and pride in his wife, Linda and son, Mat, were always self evident. As a frequent guest in our home, Mat was always talking about his Dad...his scuba diving, learning to speak Spanish and his great love of his heritage. Our prayers and thoughts are with you. To the Pinchak Family, Our deepest condolences to your family. We were so sad to hear about Pete. He was a wonderful person. We met Pete last January when we moved and our son Jordan started riding on his bus. It was obvious that he loved his work and cared for the children very much. We will miss his caring smile and the little honk and wave as he turned around and drove back by the house. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Sincerely, Tanya, Matt, Jordan and Makenna Keast

On Monday and Wednesday I used to meet Pete in his bus on the Springwater Road. He was my guide as to whether I was late or not. He always waved and smiled as if he knew. I have missed seeing him this year and wondered if he had changed his bus route with the new system. I never dreamed the change would result in this. I am so sorry.

We wish to send our most sincere condolences to Pete's family. He was a terrific person and a great bus driver. Pete was very attentive to our son Ryan and cared greatly for him. Pete was very proud of his son Matt and spoke of him and his accomplishments often. He was very happy when he learned that our family was growing and when our youngest (Curtis) was born he said that he'd never forget his birthday as it was Pete's wedding anniversary (Oct 5th). We were looking forward to the day that our youngest son would be riding Pete's bus because we trusted him completely to care for our boys as he would his own. I remember the time that Pete and I had to go to court as witnesses to someone driving through the bus' flashing lights. Pete was adamant that the rules of the road were followed and took great pride in being able to keep our kids safe and "bringing the bad guy down". Pete will be remembered as the kind and gentle person that he was. He will be greatly missed by our family.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Pete. We will truly miss this wonderful man who cared so deeply for the children he transported everyday to school and home again. I had so much faith in him to keep my children safe. I'm glad we had the pleasure of knowing him the 8yrs my children have been going to school. I live on hwy 3 and so many times drivers drove right through with the bus lights flashing and this infuriated Pete so much, he'd be sitting there shaking his fist at the driver. My youngest will really miss him since he enjoyed asking her how she was in Spanish every morning. We will treasure all the memories of him. May peace be with you all.
