Ruth Olga McLain of Wardsville and formerly Port Bruce in her 98th year. Beloved wife of the late William Henry McLain (1969). Dear mother of Jean Shardlow of Port Bruce, Angus McLain and wife Gwen of West Lorne, David McLain and wife Gwen of Copetown, Frances Shelley and husband Clarence of Wallacetown and John McLain and wife Debby of Vancouver Island. Loved by 26 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren, 42 great great grandchildrren and 1 great great great grandchild. Also survived by daughter-in-laws Marilyn and Sandra. Predeceased by sons Henry McLain and wife Betty, James McLain and wife Evelyn, Malcolm (Mac) McLain, Robert (Bob) McLain, son-in-laws Robert Roose and Tom Shardlow, a grandson Billy, brothers Harold and LeRoy Walker and a sister Helen Smith. Ruth was the last surviving member of her family. Born in Port Burwell Ontario on December 5, 1911 daughter of the late Isaiah and Sarah (Schram) Walker. Ruth moved to Port Bruce in 1939. She was a member of the Malahide United Church U.C.W. and the Ladies Auxiliary, Aylmer Legion, Br.# 81. Friends may call at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 pm where the funeral service will be held on Friday September 11, 2009 at 11:00am. Interment, Aylmer Cemetery. Rev. Michael Wellwood, legion padre, officiating. Members of the Aylmer Legion will conduct a memorial service 7:00 pm Thursday. Donations to the charity of one's choice would be appreciated.
