Obituary of Michael Bachner
Michael Bachner passed away at home on Wednesday August 9, 2017 in his 87th year.
Born in Waltersdorf Romania August 28, 1930, Mike came to Canada with his family in 1948, after living in Austria for four years.
He farmed most of his life, growing grains, tobacco, peppers and raising his beloved beef cattle.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Aylmer.
Mike is survived by his caring wife Katie of 61 years, his daughter Jane (Jay) Moodie, son Michael (Cathy) Bachner, son Stephen (Noelle) Bachner, dear grandchildren Jessica and Joshua Moodie, Nicholas and Michael Bachner, Arden Kroeker (Nevin) and Codie Bachner, and great-granddaughter Remy Kroeker.
Also survived by his siblings Mary Hendel, Rose White (Bob), Peter Bachner and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Michael and Maria Bachner (1992), a brother George in infancy (1937), a sister Katie Muhlbock (2014), brother's in law Karl Muhlbock (2002) and Martin Hendel (2003).
Resting at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer. Visitation on Friday August 11 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 12 at 11 a.m., then to his final resting place at the Aylmer Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donation to St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital Foundation, the Victorian Order of Nurses or St. John's Lutheran Church in Aylmer would be appreciated by the family.
