It was with deep sadness that we read of Marilyn's passing in the Aylmer Express. Duane Sr. and Marilyn were both wonderful people - kind and generous to a fault. Marilyn will be greatly missed not only by her family but by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

I'm glad to have known Marilyn the last few years of her life, visiting her whenever I went to Tillsonburg, and here in Aylmer before she moved. It is hard when Loved ones leave our side, especially for family. My Thoughts, prayers, and wishes for Peace are with you ALL. May you be blessed with the sweetest of memories and feelings of Love every day.

Cathy and Duane ...so sorry to hear of the passing of your mom , she will be missed by all. When I think of your mom and dad I always think back to the days of the Hicks Christmas ,held at the Cornell hall. Your mom always smiling and laughing making her way around the room talking to all ,while your dad sat quietly at a table with this smirkish grin like he just found a $100 bill in his suit coat pocket . Good times ! Not only were they husband and wife but best friends , a trait seldom seen theses days and we will always admire that ! Wishing you better days ahead and your parents and Lori are reunited again ....take care, be well...

I have fond memories of your mom as a youngster. She was funny and out-going. I just recently connected with her again on face book. Keep her memories close to your heart.

Cathy, Duane and families
My heart is full of sadness. I feel so blessed to have had the opportunity of having a visit with her a week ago. I'm so happy she was able to come to my house last year and spend a few days with me. We had such fun doing all the things girls do, pedicures, out for lunch etc. My heart is overflowing with memories of all the great fun times spent with Marilyn and Duane and I will cherish them forever. My sincere thoughts and prayers are with all of you, and I hope all the memories you have tucked away in your hearts will help you during this difficult time. Sending Love and Hugs! <3 Wilma xo

I've known Marilyn for 36 years, ever since I became part of the Martindale Family. The Hicks Family and the Martindale Family go back a long way. Aviation is what ties us together. Finding Marilyn at the airport with Dwayne, the conventions I was part of, she always treated me as one of the bunch. Later on meeting on the streets of Aylmer, at No Frills, always a kind word, always asked about the family. One time, can't remember why but we got to talking about the movie "On Golden Pond". She told me it was a favourite of yours. When I told this to Dan he said, "well lets get her a copy of the movie". When I showed up at her door with the movie she was surprised and happy as punch, I sure hope she got pleasure out of watching it. It's been a few years since I was lucky enough to bump into her in town and then I saw she had moved to Tillsonburg. Through FaceBook we kept in touch. My Sympathies go to the Family, she was a very great Lady!
