Matheson, peacefully in her sleep at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Friday, April 24, 2009. Genesta Mae "Ness" Matheson of Aylmer in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of the late Roy Lamond(1970) and the late William Matheson(1977). Dear mother of Nancy McWhinnie of Kitchener and Roy Lamond and wife Karen of Florida. Loving grandmother of Margaret Stirling and husband Lee, Jason McWhinnie, Rory McWhinnie and Linda Evans, Kyle Lamond and Ryan Lamond. Great-grandmother of Jenna Stirling, David Stirling and Colin Lamond. Predeceased by sisters Jean McKenzie and Mildred Brigley and a brother Clarence Cook. Born in Gays River Nova Scotia on August 26, 1917 daughter of the late Ralph and Mae (Walker) Cook. Ness moved to Aylmer in 1946 and operated a beauty salon. She was Past President of the Ladies Aux. of Col. Talbot Branch #81of the Royal Canadian Legion. A private family funeral will be held at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer. Interment Aylmer Cemetery. A public memorial service will be held on Friday, June 19 at 11:00 a.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion, Aylmer.
