Sorry to read about your mother. I remember her with the cold drinks and snacks that she delivered to us as we worked in potatoes. She was a wonderful woman. Lyn had class and a beauty that was as great on the inside as it was on the outside. May faith help you through this time.

I would like to recognize Lyn for the important place she holds in the hearts of our 3 daughters, Melanie (now 21), Becky (now 23) and Nicki (now 30). These girls lost their grandmother, Lyn's sister Mariel, in 2004. As a result they lost the joys and pleasures of hearing the stories of her life as one of four Husser girls as they traveled around Ontario and enjoyed summers at the island cottage in Port Loring.
Some few years ago, we reconnected with Lyn at a family reunion (one of the Husser Cup celebrations) and she captivated the girls with stories of their grandmother (and, to my chagrin, their father) when she (and he) was young. Over time, we visited Lyn and she visited us and she continued to share humourous vignettes of the Husser grils' childhoods, their rambunctious younger brother, as well as a certain young nephew, me of course. She generously knitted hats and mitts in the girls' school colours and took a genuine interest in their lives.
So, I am very thankful that Lyn was part of our lives in the latter part of her own. She filled a void in the lives of our daughters left by the passing of much-loved Grandfather (Gene) and Grandmother (Mariel). A void we didn't even realize existed.
To Lyn, I would say, your grand-nieces love you and will miss you. May you rest peacefully in God's loving embrace.

It was in the winter of 1990 and spring of 1991 that Aunt Lyn helped me out by taking care of my 9-year-old daughter Libby for several months while I finished University. While Libby lived there, Aunt Lyn fussed over her and lovingly treated her like her own child. I can not begin to share the gratitude I have in my heart for her kindness. She will be truly missed.

I hope you can get your hands on some yarn up there in Heaven (Sorry Mala, your biggest customer has a new supplier), you promised a few of us a pair of your famous knitted socks. Yvette and I may have to bribe some angels to put in a good word for us, before they let us through those pearly gates (being a preachers daughter, I'm sure you have some leverage). Also, I would love it if you could save me a glass (cases) of wine, and some of the good looking angels (it's polite to share you know). I love you to the moon and back, until we meet again, have fun up there and don't do anything I wouldn't do :P

I'm sorry to hear this. I admired "the Husser girls" while we attended East Elgin Secondary School. Marilyn was in my class and I remember her calm pleasant way. She was a pretty girl at that time and though I lost track after we graduated I can see that she continued as a sophisticated and attractive lady. It is with shock and sadness that I read this notice. I truly did shed a tear Marilyn.
