Obituary of George Hunt

Hunt, George Frederick in his 88th year at Terrace Lodge Aylmer on Sunday December 18, 2016 after a long courageous battle with cancer. Beloved husband of Jean (Smith) Hunt for over 66 years. Son of the late Fred (1980) and Marion (Martindale) (1951) Hunt. Proud father of 5 children and their spouses: Diane & Gord Park of Fingal, Deb & James Wilson of Springford, Brian & Shelley of Cambridge, Don & Wilma of Waterloo, Keith & Karen of Aylmer. Cherished Grandfather to 18 Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren. Survived by a sister Lois Gurr of London and predeceased by sister Margaret Hunt (2005). George lived his whole life in Aylmer, working for 45 years at Imperial Tobacco, retiring in 1992. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church in Aylmer where he served as a Trustee, an Elder on the board, and as Secretary / Treasurer of the Sunday School. Dad hosted the best family parties. We will miss his warm hugs, his generosity and caring spirit. Thank you to the caring staff at Terrace Lodge and Dr. Louzada and staff at the LHSC cancer clinic. Visitation will be held at Kebbel's Funeral Home 119 Talbot St. E. Aylmer on Tuesday December 20, 2016 from 2 - 4:00 p.m and evening 7 - 9:00 where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday December 21, 2016 at 11:00a.m. Donations to St. Paul's United Church, Canadian Cancer Research or Terrace Lodge Auxillary would be appreciated.
