Obituary of Cy Kelly

Kelly, "Cy" Ignatius Thomas of Aylmer passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 in his 88th year. Beloved husband of Helen (Klachan) Kelly. Dear father of Anne Marie Kelly, Kathy Van Kasteren(Jack), Barbara Kelly and Stephen Kelly(Sandi). Loving grandfather of Tom(Trish), Jill(Marco), Jess(Adam) and great-grandfather of Sonny, Kash and Kyla. Brother of Betty and Dorie. Brother-in-law to Steve and Mary, Joyce and the late Stan, Marg and John, Jean. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers Jim, Joe, Wish, Pats, Ray and sisters Sis and Teresa. Born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia on November 21, 1928, the son of the late Tom and Maggie Kelly. Cy came to Aylmer in the 1950's to play hockey for the Aylmer Trojans. He owned and operated Cy's Bowling Lanes and Lounge in Aylmer for over 50 years. He contributed greatly to youth sports in Aylmer both as a coach and a sponsor. Cy was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Friends may call at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Aylmer on Monday, November 14, 2016 at 11:00 am.
