John & Gwen, So sorry I could not attend the funeral or help out at the funeral lunch at St. Paul's, as I had other commitments. Please know my thoughts as prayers are with you both during this difficult time.

As part-time chaplains at St Jacobs Place (Mary Lou's last home), we enjoyed our French and English conversations with Mary Lou. Having lived in both Belgium and Congo, it was very special to share memories with her of these places. She was a faithful attendee of our chapel services as well as attending Sunday services with her grandson. We will miss her sense of humour and her presence on the front porch.

Mary Lou was my sister Gwen's mother-in-law. I was pregnant with my first child when Gwen and John's first child was born, and I was completely overcome when she presented me with a hand-crocheted afghan for my baby. Such generosity. After her husband passed, I would see her usually at Christmas at Gwen and John's home and I remember her sharp wit and sense of humour. I was living and working in French in Montreal and would sometimes get her to speak to me in French when I saw her.

God bless the family. Marylou would always give me a wave when I entered the building where she lived across from the grocery store, or talked to us in the summer when they had chats on the picnic table where she lived at the apartment, Thanks to Nancy and her parents for having that there. Betty

We had known Mary Lou for many years and will always remember her many walks all over Aylmer in all kinds of weather. Climbing the stairs up to her top floor apartment were never a hardship to her. "They keep me young" she would say. God has blessed her with a long life.
