Deen, at Valleyview Home, St. Thomas on Saturday, February 28, 2009. Afra Deen of Aylmer in her 80th year. Beloved wife of James Deen. Loving mother of Anthony Deen and wife Helen Marie of St. Thomas, James Deen Jr. and wife Claire of Midland, Helaina Deen of St. Thomas, Rose Marie Fragiskatos and husband Ted of Aylmer and Tracey Gibson of Norwich. Dear sister of Agatha VanderMolen and husband Oene, Dora Zegers and husband Joe, Jim Hoffer, John Hoffer and wife Marg, Paul Hoffer and wife Linda, Pete Hoffer and wife Joanne. Also survived by a brother-in-law Bert VanDyk, a sister-in-law Liz Hoffer, 13 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her son John Deen, a sister Nellie VanDyk and brothers Flores and Case Hoffer. Born in Bovenkarspel The Netherlands on February 5, 1930 daughter of the late John and Helaina (Rinkel) Hoffer. Friends may call at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where prayers will be held on Monday at 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Sorrows R.C. Church, Aylmer on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at 11:00 am. Interment, Queen of Peace Cemetery. Father Joseph Nevett, officiating. Donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
