Obituary of Gertrude Ashton

Ashton, (Gertrude) Josephine passed away at her residence at Caressant Care-Bonnie Place, St. Thomas on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 in her 98th year. Beloved wife of the late Donald Ashton(1992). Dear mother of Clifford Ashton(Lauree) of RR2, Aylmer, Shirley Magoffin(Jim) of Woodstock and Karen Currah(Wayne Hauser) of Bothwell. Loving grandmother of Stuart, Jason, Garett, Elie, Brian(Kim), Tracy(Steve) and Julie(Donald). Also survived by her sister Vivian, her sister-in-law Dorothy and a number of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers Arthur, Clifford, Donald and Bob Ostrander. Born in Malahide Township on May 20, 1919, daughter of the late Frank and Mabel (Evans) Ostrander. Gertie was a lifelong resident of Malahide Township and a member of Malahide United Church at Dunboyne. Friends may call at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 11:00 am. Interment, Dunboyne Cemetery.
