Obituary of Donald Berdan

Berdan, Donald Leroy of Orwell passed away peacefully at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Friday, August 12, 2016 in his 85th year. Beloved husband of 63 years to Rose (Chase) Berdan. Dear father of Diane Crandan of St. Thomas, Donald Berdan(Kim) of St. Thomas, Daniel Berdan(Rebecca) of Orwell, David Berdan(Anne) of St. Thomas, Donna Searay(Steven) of St. Thomas, Kevin "Dennis" Berdan(Brenda) of Aylmer and Denise Gray(Brian) of St. Thomas. Also survived by brothers Howard Berdan, Fred Berdan(Shirley), Jack Berdan(Myrtle), a sister Erie Bell Mills, 25 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers Wilfred, Wilbur and Mac Berdan, sisters Lena Upgrove, Donna Berdan. Marie Slaght and Marion Berdan. Born in Springfield Ontario on September 02, 1931, son of the late Hugh L. and May (McTaggart) Berdan. Don was a resident of Orwell for 58 years and a member of the New Sarum Baptist Church. He co-owned and operated Berdan Paving. Friends may call at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 11:00 am. Interment, Orwell Cemetery.
