Years ago, when I was a police recruit at OPC, I asked my traffic course instructor (Mr. knight) where I could take a nice girl to dinner in London. I took that girl to the restaurant he named. We sat down and we were surprised that the drinks were paid for by Mr. knight. A thoughtful man, a good instructor. My wife and I fondly recall this thoughtful act.

Condolences to Buds family. I first met Bud when I attended a Youth Officers Course at OPC. I became a member of the Youth Officers of Ontario representing York Regional Police and was a member for 9 years. Bud and I became good friends and I attended his retirement presentation at the OPC. He will be sadly missed. Rest in peace my friend

Sorry to hear about your Dad's passing. Our thoughts are with you, Cindy and the rest of the Knight family. Although I know from you and Pat R. about Bud the loving Father and Bud the loving Uncle, I was lucky enough to have been taught by Bud at Ont. Police College. Although his gruff and booming voice scared many a student the first few days of class, his sense of humour and passion for teaching shone through. I loved Bud the Instructor, he was a credit to teaching and policing.

Saddened to hear of Uncle Bud's passing. I remember him as a large man with a commanding presence. I have met many police officers in Ottawa over the years who knew Bud. He was well liked and respected. Some of these officers shared interesting and humorous stories. He made an impression on many and those memories will live on.

Janet sent me the sad news last night of Uncle Buds passing. I can still remember Uncle Bud visiting us in Ottawa when he was a doing a use of force demonstration. Much to moms dismay he showed me his Billy club and a few other items he was showing how to defend against. I loved it and have alway been proud of my Uncle. Even as a few vf years ago I was working with a woman in TO who's husband was a Sargent in the TO police force and knew Uncle Bud. It seems he was well liked everywhere. I know Dad was proud to have him as a brother. I have told my children these stories of uncle Bud so his memory will live on. John, Jacks Son...

Bud and I worked together as partners for several years in the early days of the Police College, teaching provincial statutes and patrol methods. He was one of the most congenial guys I ever worked with. He had a great sense of humour and an unflappable personality. A great instructor well liked by the students and a great guy.
