Obituary of William H. Cresswell

Cresswell, Dr. William of Aylmer passed away at Norfolk General Hospital on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 in his 91st year. Beloved husband of the late Jean (Eberle) Cresswell(2011). Dear father of David Cresswell(Gail), Deborah Woods, Robert Cresswell(Joan) and Paul Cresswell. Loving grandfather of Tracy, Ryan, Melissa, Kimberly, Jennifer, David, Carrie, Gregory, Laura, Jamie, Natalie. Great-grandfather of Rowan, Colton, Torin,Carys, Annie and Jayne. Dear brother of the late Harry Cresswell and the late Victoria Wood. Loved by numerous nieces and nephews. Born in Toronto on February 18, 1926, son of the late William Henry and Wilhemena (Hislop) Cresswell. He graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College at Guelph in 1948. Bill started the Aylmer Veterinary Clinic in 1949. Bill was active in the Aylmer community and enjoyed curling, golfing, fishing, hunting, his cottage at Long Point Beach, and winters in Florida. He was a founder of the Pleasant Valley Golf Club and the Aylmer Curling Club. He was Past Master of Malahide Masonic Lodge 140. Bill was member of Scottish Rite, Mocha Temple, Aylmer and Tillsonburg Shrine Clubs, Whitefish Bar Club, the Aylmer Fair Board, the Aylmer Baptist Church, Aylmer P.U.C. and Past President and Life Member the Aylmer Optimist Club. He was president of the Ontario Municipal Electrical Association and the Ontario Water Works Association. Bill will always be remembered for his kind words and his ability make people feel welcome and valued. Friends may call at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Thursday 7-9 and Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Masonic Service Friday at 6:45 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the Aylmer Baptist Church on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 11:00 am.
