Obituary of Pearl Lang

Pearl Lang On June 12, 2016 our mother Pearl Lang went to the loving arms of our Lord and Saviour, her family by her side. Mother was born in Kearny on November 28, 1919. She was the daughter of the late Elijah and Elizabeth (Kearns) Knopp. She was predeceased by the husband Ewart Lang (1987), and a son in law William A (Bill) Kilgour (2004). Mother was predeceased by all of her thirteen siblings. Mother had three daughters, Mildred (Ron) Farrow, Marion Harris, Dorothy Kilgour/ O'Neill (Michael). She was the proud grand-mother of eight grandchildren. Kevin (Deb) Farrow, Ken (Stephanie) Farrow, Katrina Jones, Jacqueline Brower, Te-resa (Bill) Blok, Bonnie Walter, Angela (Rob) Mailhot, and Scott (Jen) Kilgour. Loving Great Grandmother to Mackenzie Farrow, Devon, Dustin, Darah Farrow, Amber and Aiden Jones, Shanyon Brower, Jesse Brower-Stevenson and DJ Brower-Stevenson and Temika Walter, Brady, Larissa, Addison, Bryce Mailhot, Ashely, Emily, Hailey Kilgour. Mother enjoyed life and was always noted with a smile on her face. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was her pride and joy. In her early years she worked at the HJ Heinz factory in Leamington. Upon coming to the Aylmer area mother worked at the Imperial Tobacco Co, Aylmer Canners, and worked for area farmers in tobacco season, and at the end of the day returned home to chores on the family farm. Mother was a hard worker and took pride in everything she did. If you did things you did it right the first time (or) not at all. Mother also enjoyed her flower beds and gardens which she kept in pristine condition. Mother also managed the time to help with her girls' schooling. She was also an excellent cook and would not hesitate in trying new recipes. Mother was never idle, she made hooked rugs of wool giving many away. She found colors she wanted from wool sweaters and wool coats. She cut them into the required strips that she needed. Her rugs were a labour of love and an expression of herself. There was a time she tried her hand at knit-ting slippers, which she gave to many along the way. Mother never got discouraged with the challenges of life. She was the one that dug her heels in, and made things work out. She was always positive in thought and always maintaining that sweet little smile. I thank you Mother for always being there. Upon looking back we lived a good life and we were blessed with a wonderful Mother and Father. We are now left with our memories, which we will for-ever cherish. Until we meet again. We love you. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Tuesday 7-9 and Wednesday 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., where the funeral service will he held on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at 11 a.m. Interment, Aylmer Cemetery.
