Obituary of Ann DeKraker
DeKraker, Ann of Lyons went to be with her Lord and Saviour at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 in her 79th year. Beloved wife of 59 years of Bob DeKraker. Dear mother of Marianne VanGoor(Martin) of Guelph, Teresa Verkley(Jeff) of Huntsville, Peter DeKraker(Sherry) of Lyons, Betty Connolly(Chris) of Thunder Bay, Rodger DeKraker(Sue) of Aylmer and Jeff DeKraker(Katherine) of Lyons. Loving grandmother of Carolyn, Christina, Alaina, Scott, Alex, Joshua, Ethan, Caleb, Kiley, Dylan, Melissa, Nadia, Adam and Ashley. Sister of John and Cynthia Westerterp, Ben and Pat Westerterp, Agnes and John De Groot, Bertha and Lou Barnes, Thea and (late Glen) Ewald, Peter and Lineke Westerterp and sister-in-law Elanor Westerterp. Predeceased by a brother Dick. Also survived by seven great-grandchildren, her adopted family Martha and Nain Coto and their children of St. Thomas and a number of nieces and nephews. She will be missed by many friends and family far and wide especially those in the Honduras. Born in Koudekerk, The Netherlands on July 6, 1937, daughter of the late Peter and Thea (Vriesema) Westerterp. Ann came to Canada in 1951 to Crossley Hunter. She was an avid gardener and took great pride in her flowers. Ann was a member of the Aylmer Full Gospel Church and the Aylmer & District Horticultural Society. She enjoyed her friends at the Springfield Exercise Group. A celebration of her life will be held at the Aylmer Full Gospel Church on Monday, April 11, 2016 at 11:00 am. with visitation at the church on Sunday 3-5 and Monday from 10-11 a.m. Donations to the Aylmer Full Gospel Church Building Fund or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
