It would never fail, to walk in to the arena to watch a game that my son Luke would be playing with either Duncan or Quinn as a joint team player, and see both Marie and Ken sitting in the opposing team stands. I would walk in, look up and give a hello salute, a virtual hug or a tip of my hat. Quite often Marie would have to nudge Ken to point out that I was standing 10 feet in front of him, however I choose to believe he would do that on purpose so I would stand waving for seconds on end until he would give in!!
Marie, I have told you and Ken that I believe you are 'the ultimate' in Grandparents. As a parent I would have been thrilled to have had Grandparents such as you to help with all the team sports, the driving, the early dinners, the coaching and the guidance. As a grandchild, I can guarantee that Ken's influence on the kids has and will continue to show through them in years to come.
Ken will be greatly missed - by the family, the friends and the opposing team parents in the stands. Ken, I tip my hat to you and am proud to have gotten to know you over the years. Marie, please join us in the Home Team section anytime.

Marie, John, Jeff, Jim, Jeremy and families. There is nothing that anyone can say or do to take the awful pain from one's heart when we lose a loved one. Our memories are what get us thru. We think of all the fun times, all the great get togethers, all the love and all the really crazy things we did over the years. I will miss that jolly laugh of his, I will miss his practical jokes and the birthday calls and whenever I see a kite flying high in the sky, I will smile and will think of my crazy cousin. Marie and boys, It is with great sadness that I send this message to pass on to you how terrible the news of Ken's passing was to receive. Although I have not been close to you in many years I always considered him and you as close. I have many great memories of good times had when we did manage to get together and I remember the comforting words Ken had for me when My father passed away a few years ago. He was a good man and will be missed by many I am sure. Nothing I or anyone can say will make the pain of loss go away but hand together and remember the good things.
