Obituary of Kay Jones

JONES, Kathyreen Marie (Couse) of Caressant Care Nursing Home, Bonnie Place, passed away on Sunday, December 01, 2013, at her late residence, in her 99th year. Beloved wife and best friend for 35 years of the late George Howard Jones (December 02, 1977). Dearly loved mother of Leonard Jones and his wife Judy and Susan Graves. Cherished grandmother of Jennifer Groot-Zevert and her husband, Mark all of Aylmer, and Nicole Graves and her partner Belal Sobieh of Calgary, Alberta. Loved great-grandmother of Graeme and Ethan Groot-Zevert. Sadly missed by a number of nieces and nephews. Kay was born on March 22, 1915 in Yarmouth Centre, the daughter of the late George Edgar Couse and Maud Sophia Schnekenburger Couse. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family, being predeceased by her siblings and their spouses. Brothers: Stanley (1974) and wife Dorothy, Russell (1993) and wife Donna, Harry (1986) and wife Rietta, Louis (1992) and wife Elizabeth, and sisters Margaret Magdaline (who died in infancy 1905) and Lillian (2004) and husband Tom Wilson. Kay was a member of the Aylmer Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a former volunteer for Meals on Wheels and the Aylmer District Museum. As per Kay's wishes, there will be no funeral home visitation or service. A family committal service will follow at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to the Aylmer Baptist Church, to the Canada Southern Railway Station (St. Thomas) or the Aylmer Corner Cupboard.
