Obituary of John Walker

Walker, John of Aylmer passed away peacefully at his residence, Chateau Gardens, Aylmer on Friday, September 27, 2013 in his 90th year. Beloved husband of Doris (Firlotte) Walker. Dear father of Sharon Watson of Aylmer and Taymarah Centanni and husband Simiro of Parksville, Vancouver Island. Loving grandfather of John Nelles and wife Edie, Deborah Palm and Michael McCaw. Great grandfather of Nathan, Brad, Samantha, Rebecca and Ryan. Also survived by a brother Robert Walker and wife Barb and a number of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters Martha, Elizabeth, Bessie, Joan, Kathleen, Mary and Margaret. Born in Brantford on June 24, 1924, son of the late Robert and Agnes (Ferguson) Walker. John was the assistant manager of LCBO. He was a member of the Aylmer Baptist Church and the Royal Canadian Legion. He served in the Navy during WW ll. John was an avid fisherman. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of John's life will be held at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at 11:00 am. with visitation on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Legion Service Monday at 7:00 p.m. Interment, Aylmer Cemetery.
