Obituary of Alvin Korvemaker

Korvemaker, Alvin Bradley - 49 of Aylmer, in God's providence and perfect wisdom, was taken suddenly to be with his Saviour on August 24, 2013. He was the loving husband for 25 years of Alice (nee Dykstra) and devoted father of Aaron, Rachel and Deanne. Beloved son of Arend and Dianne Korvemaker of Wyoming, ON and beloved son-in-law of Glenn and Mattie Dykstra of Lethbridge, AB. Dear brother of Tracy and Cecil Alkema, James and Marjorie Korvemaker, Jacqueline and Steven Hordyk, Judy and JC Korten and Elsie and Dave Beldman. Dear brother-in-law of Derrick and Connie Dykstra, Betty and Wade Sturwold, and Bernice and Rick VanPelt. Predeceased by sister-in-law Dena Dykstra. Alvin is also survived by 36 nephews and nieces and predeceased by a nephew Peter Haveman. Al earned his M.Div. at Mid-America Reformed Seminary. He served for 9 years as minister of the Word of God in the Orthodox Christian Reformed Church of Surrey, B.C. and for 12 years in the Bethel United Reformed Church of Aylmer. It was his joy and privilege to proclaim the Good News of salvation by grace alone, through faith alone, in Jesus Christ alone and to witness the transforming power of God in the lives of His people. Visitation will be on Wednesday, Aug. 28 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Bethel United Reformed Church (49823 Talbot Line, Hwy 3, Aylmer). Funeral service will be held on Thursday, Aug. 29 at 11:00 a.m. at the Aylmer Christian Reformed Church (194 South St. W.).
