Obituary of Eva Jakob

Jakob; Eva. The family of a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend sadly announce Eva's passing on Saturday August 24, 2013 at Chateau Gardens, Aylmer, in her 89th year. Eva is survived by son Joseph and wife Susan (Pirie) of Aylmer; grandchildren, Stephen (Lisa), David (Rebecca) and Christopher (Sofia), great grandchildrern, Matthew, Andrew, Owen, Lily, William, Alexa, Eve and Isabel: sister Anna Marath of Strathroy; nephew Joe Marath (Isabel) of St.Thomas; niece Ann Greer (Steve) of Strathroy and their families; cousin Katharina Iller of Aylmer; nephew Joe Jakob of Hungary; god daughter Eva Tamuly of Hungary; also relatives in Germany, Hungary and the USA. Eva was predeceased by her dear parents, Joseph and Eva (Busz) Freisinger; loving husband of sixty-five years, Adam (2005); parents-in-law Leopold and Agotha (Bayer) Jakob; brother-in-law Leopold Jakob (Katharina) and son John; brother-in-law Anton Marath and son Tony. Eva was born in Pari, Hungary on Friday, November 21, 1924. During WWII, when her husband was fighting in the war, Eva worked hard to help manage the farm crops and animals. Eva and family were forced to leave Hungary in 1948 and relocate in Taucha, East Germany. The family fled to Bremen, West Germany in 1949. They emigrated to Canada and arrived in Aylmer on June 9, 1950. Eva and Adam tobacco farmed in the Aylmer, Sparta, Strathroy, Mt. Brydges, Summers Corners and Copenhagen areas until 1973. Eva was employed by Aylmer Imperial Leaf Tobacco for many years. Eva was a faithful member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church and the CWL. She was kind, generous Christian; she was a friend to all. Eva had talents in cooking, knitting and crocheting; her family fondly remember her meals of chicken noodle soup, breaded chicken, schnitzel, cabbage rolls, cherry cheese cake and poppy seed cake.. Eva is now forever in God's Heaven; she is now forever in our hearts. "Well done, thou good and faithful servant." The family will receive friends and relatives at the H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home, 119 Talbot St.E., Aylmer, on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral Mass for Eva will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, Aylmer on Wednesday August 28, 2013 at 11:00 am. Interment Queen of Peace Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations to the St.Thomas Elgin General Hospital Foundation or the Auxiliary of Chateau Gardens, Aylmer appreciated.
