Obituary of Bill Nesbitt
Nesbitt, William David “Bill” of Lyons passed away at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 in his83rd year. Beloved husband of Joyce (Chalk) Nesbitt. Dear father of Gary(Rebecca) and Larry(Debra). Loving grandfather of Stephanie(Remi), Stephen(Jessica), Stacey(Evan), Amanda(Scott), Kelly(John), Mark and Jaden. Great-grandpa of Max, Nora, Cole, Owen, Jack and Grant. Also survived by a sister Donna O'Brien(Bob) and a number of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters Phyllis Hudson(Sam) and Dorothy Nesbitt, a sister-in-law Doreen Brooks(Ralph). Bill’s first love of his life was his wife Joyce, next was his love for farming. Over the past 62 years of his life he was an admired and respected farmer for his support and knowledge to others in and around the Springfield Community. He always had a warm and welcoming open door policy. He was a member of St. John's United Church, the Elgin Soil and Crop Improvement Association and the Oddfellow Lodge #404, Springfield for over 60 years. Bill served on the Springfield Cemetery Board and he was President of Yarmouth Mutual Insurance Company. Born in Malahide Township on February 24, 1935, son of the late Lorne and Ruby (Hatch) Nesbitt. Friends may call at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Lodge Service Friday at 6:45 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 11:00 am. Interment, Springfield Cemetery.
