Obituary of Evelyn Fehr

Livestream of the Celebration of Life can be viewed here.

Fehr, Evelyn “Ev” surrounded by the love of her family, passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Saviour on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Sakura House in Woodstock. Now in the fullness of eternal life, she rests in the arms of Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of her faith.

Deeply missed by her faithful husband of 31 years, Jake Fehr, and by her beloved children, Cole and Sydney. Loving daughter of Diedrich Reimer and Helen Reimer (predeceased 2017), and treasured sister to Elsie Fehr of Mississauga, Albert Reimer (Kristy) of Kitchener, and Jeff Reimer (Kathy) of London. Cherished aunt to Lucas, Trevor, Sasha, Mara, Nathan, Danielle, Morgan, Charlotte, Quin and to a number of Fehr nieces and nephews.

She was also deeply loved by the Fehr family—a large and close-knit circle of ten brothers and their families—who held her dear and will miss her greatly. She was predeceased by her father-in-law, William Fehr (1989), and mother-in-law, Katherine Fehr (2013). Predeceased by her grandparents. Lovingly remembered by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Evalina Reimer was born on November 19, 1971, in Rubio, Mexico. After moving to Canada in 1979, she became known as Evelyn, and to many simply “Ev.”

In her youth, she experienced a serious accident that influenced her decision to pursue a rewarding and successful career in nursing. The care she received during her recovery left a lasting impression and helped shape her commitment to supporting and caring for others, both professionally and through her faith.

During her studies, Ev met a young paramedic in Aylmer that would become a meaningful part of her story. Together, they built a life rooted in care, faith, service, and family.

Evelyn’s greatest joy was her role as a mother to her two children, “Amazing Cole” and “Beautiful Sydney” as Ev fondly called them. She was deeply devoted to them and found meaning in the everyday moments of family life. She maintained close relationships with both the Reimer and Fehr families and valued time spent together through gatherings, celebrations, and shared traditions. She enjoyed cooking, hosting, planning activities, and capturing memories through photography.

In her final days, Ev expressed her deepest hope; that those she loved would come to know Jesus and share in eternity with Him. She will be remembered for her care for others, her steady presence, and her deep love for her family.

Friends and family are invited to a visitation at the H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 from 5-8:00 p.m. A Celebration of Ev's Life will be held at the Aylmer Evangelical Mennonite Mission Church at Summers Corners on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. Interment, Tillsonburg Cemetery. Donations to the Cancer Society- Metastatic Breast Cancer would be appreciated.

“On behalf of Jake, Cole, Sydney, and the Reimer and Fehr families, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for the exceptional care shown to Ev. Sincere thanks to Dr. Austin, the Oncology Team; especially Dr. Jacques Raphael and Nurse Corinne; community nurses, Dr. Jamal, and the compassionate staff at Sakura House.

To our family, friends, neighbours, coworkers, the AEMMC community, and even those we may never have met, we are deeply grateful. Every prayer, kind gesture, and expression of support has been profoundly felt and sincerely appreciated.”
