Obituary of Margaretha Hamm
Margaretha Hamm entered into rest on February 10, 2026, at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital, held in the gentle peace she carried throughout her life. Born on August 3, 1941, in Chihuahua, Mexico, she was the daughter of Jacob and Margaretha (Hildebrandt) Wall, she was the eldest of ten children in a close and lively family.
Margaretha was the devoted wife of the late Abram Hamm, with whom she shared a life built on hard work, faith, and quiet devotion. Together they raised a large and loving family: Johan (Kathy), the late Jacob, Margaretha (Jacob), Maria, Sara (Dan), Abram, Anni, and Cornelius (Susie). She was blessed with 21 grandchildren and 18 great‑grandchildren, each one a source of pride and joy.
She was predeceased by her husband Abram (2020), two infant daughters, her son Jacob (2012), her grandson Gabriel (2007), and four brothers, Cornelius, Klass, Jacob, Isaak, and Martin Wall. She is lovingly remembered by her surviving siblings: Maria Wieler, Peter Wall, Anna Wiebe, John Wall, and Tina Schellenberg.
Margaretha spent many years in Langton, Ontario, before moving to Aylmer Ontario, where she continued to pour her heart into her home. She was gifted with her hands—sewing, mending, creating, and restoring. She especially loved repairing furniture with Abram, a shared pastime that became a symbol of their companionship and care.
Her legacy is one of gentleness, resilience, and devotion. She leaves behind a family shaped by her steady love and the quiet beauty of a life well lived.
