Obituary of Lorna Evans

Evans, Lorna passed away peacefully with Sheila and her family by her side at Terrace Lodge on Tuesday, November 25, 2025. She was 78 years old. Beloved wife of Sheila Parsonage of Guelph and cherished sister of Ron Evans of Port Bruce. Predeceased by her brother John and sister Valerie. Born in Petrolia, Ontario on January 8, 1947, daughter of the late Lorne and Hilda(Sheppard) Evans. Lorna had a natural gift for connecting with people, and her talent as a salesperson was truly unmatched; she could sell anything to anyone. Throughout her career, she poured her creativity and drive into organizing and marketing fundraising cruises that made a meaningful difference for many organizations. Among her notable accomplishments were collaborations with Pierre Berton and Arthur Black to raise funds for the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario. She also partnered with David Suzuki on another successful fundraising cruise, and worked alongside Karen Kain of the National Ballet of Canada to support the National Ballet School in Toronto and expand opportunities for dancers in transition.

Lorna had a heart for others and was always dreaming up new ways to uplift her community. She was a passionate advocate for accessibility and equality, meeting every challenge with remarkable determination, energy, and compassion. Her legacy of service and generosity will not be forgotten. At Lorna’s request, there will be no formal service. Donations to Terrace Lodge would be appreciated.
