Obituary of Larry Martin

Martin, Larry of Port Burwell passed away at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Friday, November 21, 2025. He was 85 years old. Beloved husband of the late Betty Martin(2022). Dear father of Tim Martin(Brenda), Catherine Lindsay(Rob) and Calvin Martin. Loving and proud grandpa of Brett and Amanda Martin, Damon(Hannah), Seth and Caden Lindsay, Max and Rex Martin. Great-grandpa of Joseph. Dear brother of Connie Sue Robinson(Joe), Joanne Kirk(Doug), Joe Martin(Dianne) and Mary Martin(Joan) and uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brothers Jack and David Martin. Born on January 8, 1940, son of the late Cecil and May(Cookson) Martin. Larry was a commercial fisherman in Port Burwell. He survived the sinking of his boat the “Southside” off the Sandhills in 1975. He later rebuilt the “Southside II” and continued fishing for over 50 years. He will be fondly remembered for providing perch and pickerel to many generations of fish lovers. There will be no formal service or visitation.
