To George, Hilda, Linda & all the members of the Csakli (Mergler) family,
It was with great sadness we heard of your mother's passing. What a special person! One of those rare people I would call 'rich' and 'famous.' Rose was rich because she was surrounded by family she loved and was loved in return. Even though distance did not allow us to visit often, whenever you saw Rose she greeted you with her wonderful smile. She would start chatting as if you had only seen each other yesterday. Rose had a way of making you feel welcome and accepted. Her friendship made all who knew her rich.
As far as famous, Rose's baked goods were legendary. No shower or wedding was complete without Rose's 'snowballs' and let's not forget her tortes. There were never crumbs left on the dessert plates she brought. Whatever the occasion, Rose was their to lend a helping hand. She was someone you could always count on.
We cannot forget her sense of humour. When I close my eyes, I can see my Mom and Rose sitting at a table laughing over some memory or story from the past. She loved to make others laugh. Rose found joy in giving joy to others.
Every time a family member passes, I envision them sitting around a table at a heavenly Tim Horton's. My Mom, Dad, brother and sister are there- along with many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. I know they have welcomed Rose with open arms. There is one more angel in heaven to watch over us.
Rose- thank you for all the wonderful memories. Having you in our lives was a blessing- Johanna, Michael & the entire Madeley (Lienerth) family

We were saddened to hear of Rose’s passing. She spent much of her life farming in Calton and was part of the fabric of our village. Though Calton has changed over the years, those of us who’ve been here a long time remember Rose’s quiet strength. To Linda and Jon—please accept our heartfelt condolences. Our thoughts are with you and your family as you celebrate Rose’s life and mourn her loss., Rob and Tracey Davies

In moments of quiet reflection, in recollections of special times shared, memories of Nana Rose will always be with you,
for the loving bond of family is one that endures forever.
George, Hilda, Linda and families,
Don and I send our very deepest condolences to all of you on the loss of your matriarch, a kind, loving, gentle, strong and devoted woman. As we aged over the 48 years we knew each other physical contact grew more rare and distance intervened but there was always that blessing, the telephone. Time disappeared when we had our chats. Her pride in her family gave her joy and strength. Her interest in mine touched my heart. There is a void in our lives but there is also the comfort of knowing she is now at peace.
With love, K and D

To Linda, Hilda and George, I remember the summers when your mom worked in tobacco with our family. Whether she was planting,or filling bulk kilns in the hot sun, she kept up with all of us and still found time to tease and tell stories. At lunch we’d sit in the shade and Rose would always share something to make everyone smile. Lots of laughs! Working in tobacco wasn’t easy, but with Rose alongside us, those long days became good memories—moments of hard work, friendship, and the kind of bond you only get when you go through it together. May she rest in peace. Thinking of you all during this difficult time. Hildegarde, Tim Triska and family.
