Obituary of Bob Gillies

Gillies, Robert Allan “Bob” of Aylmer passed away at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. He was 92 years old. Beloved husband of the late Marilyn(Laur) Gillies(2023). Dear father of Laurie Waldie(Keith), Rob Gillies(Denise) and John Gillies(Michelle) and step-father of Gerald Ellis(Judy), David Ellis(Kim) and Dean Ellis.  Loving grandfather of Mark(Meghan), Shawn, Jeff, Greg(Dee), Amanda, Emily(Scott), Haley(Jake) and Braydon and step-grandfather of Tyler(Amanda), Derek(Jocelyn), Nicole and Steven(Shelby). He will be missed by a number of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by his grandchildren Jeff(Brytni) and Amanda Gillies, step-son Terry Ellis and brother Doug Gillies. Born in Rodney, Ontario on July 19, 1933, son of the late Allan and Gladys(Hardy) Gillies. Bob retired from Yarmouth Metal as a mechanic. He was a member of St. Paul’s United Church. Bob and Marilyn enjoyed many summers at their trailer at Fin & Feather. Visitation will be held at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Thursday from 6-8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, September 12, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. Interment, Aylmer Cemetery.
