Ruth Ann and Bob were our best friends for many years. To my kids, Bill and Genevieve, they were Uncle Bob and Aunt Ruth Ann. We have so many nice memories of Uncle Bob as Santa and Aunt Ruth Ann as Mrs. Santa visiting our house in Sarnia on Christmas Eve. The little kids really believed it was Santa! We had so many nice times at their cottage, body surfing, picking up shells on the beach and eating Ruth Ann's delicious dinners. It makes me want to cry it was so nice. Ruth Ann was the bravest person I ever knew and we will love her and Uncle Bob forever. Thank you to Jim and Audrey for taking care of her so well in the last few years. I'm so glad my sister, Patti and I had shared some very nice visits with Ruth Ann the last few years. So many old neighbourhood memories . Thomas Drive was the best neighbourhood. All kids and adults became lifelong friends. Ruth Ann stayed strong through all her losses and never lost her sense of humour. An easy person to visit.!! Sincere condolences to all who knew and loved her. May she be at peace as she becomes reunited with husband Bob and family. Maureen Ballentine-Murphy

To the families of Ruth Ann - I cannot express how much this lady meant to me. I have known her my whole life as an old neighbour in Sarnia and a very dear friend of my parents for their whole lives. Bob and Ruth Ann and Rob were very very dear and we have so many memories together. I hope she is at peace and with the loves of her lives now. She was the strongest woman I know. Sincere condolences to the Volland and Timpany families. As I read Mrs. Volland's obituary so many memories came to me. Her husband, Mr. Volland was my grade 6,7,8 teacher at the one room school in Luton. So many good memories from those years. Her sister-in-law Mrs. Timpany was my grade one teacher at the same school. At that time she was Miss Baughman as she started her teaching career. When I was in high school, I went to Jim and Audrey's salon in Aylmer a couple of times to get my hair done. Thinking of you at this sad time. Sincerely, Linda (Van Patter) Charlton
