Berg, Johan “John” of Aylmer passed away peacefully with his family by his side at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Friday, June 13, 2025 in his 71st year. Dear father of Neil Berg(Anna) of Woodstock, Abe Berg(Margaret) of Straffordville, John Berg(Shelley) of Aylmer and Tina Toews(Gilbert) of Port Burwell. Loving grandpa of Abigail, Elijah, Samuel, Ethan, Micah, Chloe, Carly, Leigha, Jillian, Alyssa, Megan and Hailey. Also survived by his sisters Nancy Martens(John) and Kathy Martens(Jake) and a number of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brothers Ben Berg, Peter Berg and Bill Berg and sisters Anna Boldt and Susana Dyck. Born in Chihuahua, Mexico on April 9, 1955, son of the late Bernhard and Justina(Sawatzky) Berg. John found joy and purpose in working in his garden, especially in growing vegetables, a passion that stayed with him throughout his life. He took pride in his work, especially in maintenance and janitorial roles where he could use his hands and problem-solving skills. Always up for a challenge, John loved fixing things. It was important for John to get together with friends and family for breakfast. Visitation will be held at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Sunday from 3-5:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the Aylmer Evangelical Mennonite Mission Church(Summers Corners) on Monday, June 16, 2025 at 11:00 am.
