Betty Jane and family: I am so sorry to hear of Charlie's passing............a sincere, passionate and dedicated person in all his commitments;..... home, Church and community. We shared many stories together on the museum board and he was very knowledgeable about farming, 4-H, and even the Women's Institutes. He will certainly be missed. God Bless, Joan Mansell

Charlie was a beloved leader in the Belmont Dairy 4H club. I was a longtime member of the East Elgin Dairy 4H club, which had a bit of a rivalry with the Belmont club. After all, the calf shows were pretty competitive. Despite this rivalry, Charlie was super helpful to me any time I had questions about showing cattle. Or any other questions about dairy farming in general. Our farm was small and our Holsteins were not of the same quality as Monoak Holsteins. Yet, in interacting with Charlie, that was never apparent. He was kind and respectful to those with less status in the community. Isn't that the mark of a good human being?

My dear friends, growing up in Aylmer and area you have greatest pleasure, honor meeting many new school friends. Ill always treasure the special memories I had with Charlie. Two of my special memories with Charlie one year it was summer time I had never been on a dairy farm. One day I drove my car to the Jenkin farm I met Charlie mum who told me Charlie was in the cattle barn, I went out there WOW I met Charlie, his Dad and his Brother who gave me a crash course on dairy meeting. What a Treat!
The other memory I had was every summer the Aylmer Fair had a cattle barn, farmers brought their cows for show. The owners would stay at all times with their pet cows through night. I made sure go see Charlie ands his cows.
Charlie was always proud of his sisters as well, Donna and Betty
Growing up you most of us have great honor having most wonderful friends. Even though I have not lived in Ontario several years (I live in New Brunswick) ....am specialist Ill NEVER forget Charlie and his family.
God Bless

My deepest sympathy to the Jenkins family on the passing of Charlie. I well remember standing in the field at Monoak as Charlie talked about his beloved Holstein cows when I was there many years ago to do a story on the Jenkins family for the Holstein Journal. He was a dedicated and beloved Holstein breeder and man.
