Dear Bob, you will be missed, your dry sense of humour, memories of the many, many, times I called for help when I worked at the Museum to Jack Tribe at the Aylmer Works Department for moving something too big for me, or transportation of artifacts for exhibits at the Aylmer Fair or the Home and Garden Shows. Jack would always send you and your two side kicks “Mutt & Jeff” to give me a hand. I was so grateful for your help and laughed along with you over the many remarks you would all make over each event you helped us with till you retired.
Then we became closer when your granddaughter Robin brought Lauren and Brady into the world and made Bob and I very proud and happy grandparents. They have both been a lasting joy in our lives.
I’m proud to have bought your chainsaw creations of gulls which I still keep on my balcony where I live now and can see them every day through the glass door. Trevor has the pair of ducks with the cigars you made and presented me as a
Christmas gift, complete with festive ribbon, the year Brady was born.
So many memories of you, our lunchtime chats at Johnnys, quick catch ups when we run in to each other at McDonals where you met your coffee buddies, your 80 th birthday you invited Bob and I to attend, always with a smile and in earlier times smoking a cigar. I treasure the stories you shared with me over the years, especially your firefighting adventures.
I’ll write those memories for Lauren and Brady to have and other stories so they understand more about what a wonderful person you always were. I’ll be looking for the big, tall man smoking a stogie telling a story with that distinct drawl of yours, when it’s my turn to open the door to our next adventure!
GodKaren and Mike, Barry and all your family and friends who are deeply saddened by your passing. Thanks for the memories Bob.
My condolences, Pat Zimmer
