Hello family of Bill Searle. I grew up on Edinburgh Rd.,living with my Mum and grandparents-the Christies, around the corner from Mima and her family who lived on Merion St. Am sure I taught Nadine at John F. Ross C. V.I. I also know Don Searle. Been awhile, and the years go by.
Sending along my condolences to everyone.

Together with my siblings Marybeth, Jane and Pat, we want to pass along our sincerest condolences to Mima, Charlie, Nadine and families and Don and Marlene and their families.
We lived next door to the Searle's for many years on Dufferin Street until I moved away from home in the early 70"s to go to University. I have fond memories of helping Bill wash and wax his beautiful red 1959 Chev. Convertible at the top of their long driveway and then hoping he had some spare time to take me for a short cruise with his newly polished car. I also remember well that Bill worked at Armco and I believe my brother Mike worked there for a summer near the end of high school. I assume Bill was likely instrumental in helping him get the job. For many years I cut the Searle's lawn and shoveled the snow for Bill's mom and grandmother and we were always close neighbours. As with a number of other close family neighbours on Dufferin street, we were always looking out for each other and helping each other. To this day, I still get together with Ron Bailey and Ken Alger and Carl Griffin to continue our memories.
With a life well lived, Rest in Peace Bill.

I grew up on Dufferin Street and have so many fond memories of the Searle family. Bill had his own car and would take some of us kids across the river to Wolfond Park to go skating. I was only about 8 at the time and Bill would wear his skates to drive us over! I can still remember his Grandmother yelling out the door "Bill put your shoes on, you can't drive with skates on." While I hadn't seen Bill in many, many years - the photo posted of him just brings back so many wonderful memories. Rest in peace Bill. Lori (Elder) Ferguson

It was indeed sad when Ted Howie phoned to tell me of Bills passing. My late wife, Nancy Cowtan, and I met Bill over 60 years ago when he still lived on Dufferin Street, I worked with Bill at the Armco in the 60s and of course my wife and I new you Mime, from our school day's. It was the last Roamers get together I spoke with Bill and I'm sure glad I did.
Mime, you sure have loss a good mate and you'll miss him. No one knows what you feeling at this time, but I know you have an empty feeling in you heart. Be assured, our thought's are with you at this very sensitive time. So, to you and your family, please accept the love of all of us who know you, and our prayers.

Bill was my friend and cousin for nearly my whole life. I remember the many trips to the house on Dufferin St. with grandma Alberta and grandpa Cash and aunt Helen. Bill was always good to me. I remember how much he liked my father Jack the butcher. And when he died in 1972, we made sure Bill got his chopping block. May he rest in peace.
