I’m so sorry for your loss. I met Sharel walking home from school my first day of Grade 1; she was a year older and in the second grade. She asked me how I liked the teacher and I must have said something positive. “Wait until tomorrow “, she said. Turns out she was right as the teacher’s nickname was Crabapple. :-) We became fast friends a few years later. We walked to school many days. She was generous and kind. I often went to her house after school, playing with her adorable niece Meri Lee. Sharel had the most beautiful hair and I was envious of that long, golden braid. In high school she bravely took on the oboe in music class and was an excellent player. My condolences to her family.
