When we here in Germany heard of the death of our cousin Anneliese, we were surprised and deeply saddened. Although we had met only once (48 years ago, we spent three wonderful summer weeks together at Lake Baptiste with our families), we had only recently reconnected. Especially in the last few days, we’ve been thinking a lot about our Canadian relatives again, as we found several letters from Anne’s father, our Uncle Hans, among our late father’s belongings. May they both rest in peace!

In Memory of Anne: Anne was a beautiful person, genuine, sincere, kind, and always laughing. She worked hard to raise a large family. She set up and ran video rental stores with her husband Bert in Virgil, St. Catharines, and Niagara on the Lake. When we rented videos at the NOTL store she was often there, and greeted us with a big smile and a happy hello. Anne will be missed. Rest in Peace. Our sincere condolences to the Pynenburg Family.
