Obituary of Anna Marath

ANNA MARATH

 

God saw that your life had become only an existence, so with that he gave you peace.

The family announces Anna’s passing on September 28th 2017 at Strathmere Lodge, Strathroy, in her 95th year.

Anna is survived by son Joseph and wife Isabel (Greig) Marath of St. Thomas; daughter Ann and husband Steve Greer of Strathroy; grandchildren Christa (Mike) Gregor, Stefan (Nicole) Marath and Jeff (Rachel) Greer; great grandchildren Luke and Claire Gregor; nephew Joseph (Susan) Jakob of Aylmer and their families; niece Katharina Igert of Hungary and her family. Anna was predeceased by her dear parents Joseph and Eva (Busz) Freisinger; loving husband Anton Marath (1980); son Anton (1954); parents-in-law Anton and Katharina (Gottlinger) Marath; sister Eva and brother-in-law Adam Jakob.

Anna was born in Pari, Hungary, on April 29, 1922. Anna immigrated to Canada with her husband and son Joseph in 1957. Her daughter Ann was later born in Canada. Anna worked on many tobacco farms owned by family and was later employed by Aylmer Imperial Leaf Tobacco Co and McConnell’s Nursery. She was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church. She moved to Strathroy in her later years to be cared for by her daughter. Friends may call at the  H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. 

The funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows R. C. Church on Monday, October 2, 2017 at 10:00 am. Interment, Queen of Peace Cemetery. Share memories or condolences at kebbelfuneralhome.com
