Obituary of Edward Rossol

ROSSOL, Edward - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ed Rossol of Belmont, on May 4, 2017 in his 60th year. Ed passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospice in London with his family by his side. While he will be greatly missed by Love of his Life, Susanne Willsey, Step-Sons Brad Barons of Toronto and Craig Barons of Brampton; and beloved Granddaughter Aaliyah Gallant-Barons of Brampton, there will also be cherished memories of a colourful personality and a life always lived to the fullest! Loving brother to Fred & Dianne Rossol of Medicine Hat; Anita Rossol, Rita Rossol and Marlene Rossol of Calgary; Lorry Rossol & Chris Goss of Longview, Alberta; Gary Rossol & Annette Murphy-Rossol of London. Loving Uncle to Ryan Rossol of Toronto and his two Birthday buddies, Shawn Rossol of Calgary and Rebecca Rossol of London. Ed is survived by cousins in Germany and United States and will also be sadly missed by his Willsey Family; Marv & Linda Willsey, Joyce & Jim Cottrell, Jean & Ron Fentie, John & Marilyn Willsey, Roy & Marilyn Willsey, Myrna & Philip Hamilton, Brenda & Rick Minor, and his many Willsey nieces and nephews. He will be missed by the many close and supportive friends whose lives he touched. He is pre-deceased by his mother Ella (Rahn) and father Fred. Ed was born in Eatonia, Saskatchewan and moved to London when he was 13. He was a graduate of Fanshawe College. Early in his career, he worked in the Arctic constructing ice platforms for oil drilling rigs and also lived and worked in Calgary and Regina. Most recently he was employed at AECOM and in 2015 received a Quarter Century Award from The Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians & Technologists (OACETT). Ed was known for his adventurous spirit and love of nature and travel. He began his adventures in the early 1980's, travelling for a year to Tahiti, Tasmania, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Rarotonga. Since 1989 Ed and Sue have travelled together for a total of 22 countries visited. He was a passionate cook and gardener, and a very animated story teller! He was also an avid Leafs fan! Ed dealt with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) with dignity, courage, determination and his wonderful sense of humour. An inspiration to those around him! An Honour Guard service took place May 4, 2017 at St. Joseph's Hospice and a private family service took place May 6, 2017 at Mapleton Church of Christ Disciples with Rev. Janet Anstead officiating. Friends may join the family for Visitation on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at H.A.Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer, 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. All are welcome to join the family for Celebration of Ed's Life on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the German Canadian Club, Aylmer, with Pastor John Goldsworthy, St. John's Lutheran Church officiating.
